It might have looked as though the night-club scene was getting an early start Tuesday, but the crowd at Studio Inc. nightclub on Waters Avenue was filming a video for rapper Plies.
The spot was buzzing even at mid-afternoon as some 250 people wanted to get on camera. Women strutted in heels and little black dresses or hot pants through the dimly lit space. Men huddled up in oversized T-shirts and baggy jeans.
The extras - from the video vixens and their male counterparts to the production crew - were also from Tampa. And when the video for "I Am The Club" is broadcast, some will see themselves on TV.

•Filming around Tampa Bay is not that uncommon. An episode for "Prison Break" recently wrapped up; Faith Hill and Kelly Clarkson shot videos here; and John Cusack filmed parts of the upcoming film "Grace is Gone" here in May.
•Lindsey Norris, film commissioner manager for the Tampa Bay Film Commission, said there were 110 permits for filming in Hillsborough County in a year.
