Police Seek Suspect In Fatal Shooting

LAKELAND - Police are searching this morning for a suspect in a fatal shooting Wednesday night in the parking lot of Sunny's Food Plaza, 2085 Wabash St.

Roberto Mayorga, 25, of 1043 S. Suwannee Ave., was found shot to death around 9:50 p.m. in his vehicle, a 2005 Dodge Stratus.

A black male, about 25 years old, was seen running from the parking lot and south on Wabash. He was described as being 5-foot-6 to 5-foot-8 inches tall with short hair. He was wearing dark jeans and a red and black jacket.

Anyone who has information about the crime should contact the Polk County Sheriff's Office, 863-687-1818.
