Wildcats Edge Out Knights At Disney

LAKE BUENA VISTA - Scottie Reynolds scored 19 points and Corey Fisher added 18 to lead No. 20 Villanova to a 76-68 victory over Central Florida in the opening round of the Old Spice Classic on Thursday night.

Reynolds made five free throws in the final 1:42, and Fisher and Reggie Redding also delivered clutch second-half performances for the Wildcats (3-0), who led by 12 in the first half and were up 10 in the second half before UCF (2-1) rallied to keep the outcome in doubt until the closing seconds.

Fisher, a freshman who played a total of four minutes in Villanova's first two games, had 10 points in the second half, including consecutive 3-pointers that gave the Wildcats some breathing room after UCF pulled within 56-53.

SOUTHERN ILLINOIS 63, CHATTANOOGA 41: Randal Falker scored 21 points and Southern Illinois dominated the second half in a victory over Chattanooga in the opening round of the inaugural Anaheim Classic.

Southern Illinois (2-0) advanced to today's game against Mississippi State.

Moore Leads Huskies Past Cardinal

CHARLOTTE AMALIE, U.S. Virgin Islands - Maya Moore scored 19 points and grabbed 12 rebounds to lead No. 2 Connecticut to a 66-54 victory over No. 4 Stanford in the Paradise Jam.

Moore scored 12 of her points during a decisive 23-6 run that gave the Huskies a 60-34 lead with 9:40 remaining.
Kalana Greene added 18 points and Tina Charles had 13 and 11 rebounds for the Huskies (3-0).

DUKE 53, PURDUE 41: Jasmine Thomas scored 15 points to lead No. 9 Duke over No. 22 Purdue in the Paradise Jam.

OKLAHOMA 69, ARIZONA STATE 57: Courtney Paris had 16 points and 19 rebounds, and sister Ashley scored 21 points to help Oklahoma win for the first time this season, beating Arizona State in the Caribbean Challenge.

TEXAS A&M 70, WICHITA STATE 36: Patrice Reado scored 14 points to lead Texas A&M to a victory over Wichita State in the Paradise Jam.

MICHIGAN STATE 68, KANSAS STATE 65: Allyssa DeHaan scored 23 points to help No. 19 Michigan State hold off Kansas State in the Cancun Challenge.

The 6-foot-9 sophomore also had seven rebounds and five blocked shots. Kalisha Keane added 19 points for the Spartans (4-1).
