Jan. 3: Crist establishes state's first Office of Open Government and gives top job to champion Pat Gleason.

February: Open-government contacts named in all state agencies.

February: Five hundred state employees begin online training sessions in Sunshine responsibilities.

February: Open Government Web site launches

June 18: Open-government contacts named at all state universities.

June 19: Crist appoints Commission on Open Government with call for reform.

Aug. 22-23: Commission holds first public hearing and, among many things, hears calls for openness in the clemency process and a government-access bill of rights.

Oct. 31: Crist signs order lifting secrecy provisions in clemency hearings

Nov. 15: Crist establishes Bill of Rights for access to government.
