NEWARK, N.J. - D.J. Augustin scored 23 points, A.J. Abrams had 21 and No. 15 Texas shot 64 percent from the field in routing No. 7 Tennessee 97-78 in the championship game of the StubHub! Legends Classic on Saturday night.
Connor Atchley added a career-high 22 points and 11 rebounds, Justin Mason had 21 points and the Longhorns (5-0) continued to show they are going to be a force even with Kevin Durant now playing in the NBA.
Chris Lofton had 18 points to lead Tennessee (5-1), which was limited to 39 percent shooting from the field. JaJuan Smith added 13 and Tyler Smith had 11.
LOUISVILLE 64, OLD DOMINION 53: Terrence Williams scored 20 points, Derrick Caracter added 13 and No. 6 Louisville (4-1) rebounded from its first loss of the season with a victory against Old Dominion (3-3) in the Las Vegas Invitational.
Earl Clark had 11 points and 15 rebounds for the Cardinals, who were upset by Brigham Young at the Orleans Arena on Friday to ruin a prospective matchup with No. 1 North Carolina in the final of the eight-team event.
XAVIER 80, INDIANA 65: Eric Gordon's soaring act never got off the ground, and Indiana stayed down with him.
C.J. Anderson and B.J. Raymond scored 19 points apiece, and Xavier (4-1) handed the eighth-ranked Hoosiers (4-1) their first loss, beating them in the final of the Chicago Invitational Challenge.
WASHINGTON STATE 71, MISS. VALLEY 26: Caleb Forrest scored a career-high 13 points and No. 9 Washington State (5-0) beat Mississippi Valley State (0-6) in the Cougar Hispanic College Fund Challenge.
Kyle Weaver added 13 points and Aron Baynes had nine rebounds as Washington State dominated from the start.
MICHIGAN STATE 75, OAKLAND (MICH.) 71: Goran Suton had a career-high 20 rebounds and scored 15 points and Raymar Morgan added 20 points to help No. 10 Michigan State (4-1) defeat Oakland (2-3).
Suton grabbed 11 offensive rebounds, snaring nearly as many of his team's misses as Oakland did. Morgan was 8-for-10 from the field.
CLEMSON 96, GARDNER-WEBB 67: Cliff Hammonds had 16 points and seven rebounds to lead No. 24 Clemson past Gardner-Webb.
The Tigers (5-0) trailed just once at 3-2 and handed Gardner-Webb (4-4) its worst loss in a season that has included a win against Kentucky, two losses to Connecticut and a defeat against Oklahoma.
MIAMI 55, MORGAN STATE 51: Anthony King scored a team-high 11 points as Miami (5-0) rallied past Morgan State (4-2).
Spartan Women Upset No. 11 Valdosta State
CARROLLTON, Ga. - The University of Tampa women's basketball team picked up its biggest victory of the season, defeating No. 11 Valdosta State 64-55 in the final game of the West Georgia Thanksgiving Classic.
The Spartans (5-1) allowed a basket, then went on a 10-0 run and Valdosta State (5-1) was unable to catch up.
Sheena Walton scored 22 points and had seven rebounds to lead the Spartans. Erica Woodard scored 14 points and added a team-high 10 rebounds.
STANFORD 69, OLD DOMINION 61: At Charlotte Amalie, U.S. Virgin Islands, Kayla Pedersen had 21 points and 11 rebounds to help No. 4 Stanford (4-1) hold off Old Dominion (3-2) in the Paradise Jam.
GEORGIA 59, SOUTHERN CAL 57: Tasha Humphrey had 18 points and 14 rebounds and No. 8 Georgia (6-0) held off upset-minded Southern California (2-2) to win the Junkanoo Jam's Freeport Division championship.
TEXAS A&M 60, INDIANA 48: At Charlotte Amalie, U.S. Virgin Islands, Takia Starks scored 17 points to lead No. 11 Texas A&M (4-1) past Indiana (4-2) in the Paradise Jam.
WEST VIRGINIA 80, RHODE ISLAND 47: Olayinka Sanni scored a game-high 22 points to lead No. 16 West Virginia past Rhode Island in the championship game of the URI Invitational.
Rhode Island cut a 43-22 halftime deficit to 10 points with 10:02 to play with an 18-5 run to open the second half, but West Virginia (5-1) closed the game with a 30-7 run.
GEORGE WASHINGTON 80, WESTERN KENTUCKY 63: Jessica Adair had 23 to lead No. 17 George Washington (5-1) past Western Kentucky (4-2) in the finale of the GW Thanksgiving Classic.
OHIO STATE 88, COLGATE 26: Marscilla Packer scored 22 points and No. 15 Ohio State (5-0) advanced to the final of its Buckeye Classic tournament with a victory against Colgate (0-4).
Ohio State will face No. 24 Auburn in the tournament championship today.
TEXAS 72, KENTUCKY 60: At Honolulu, Brittainey Raven scored 17 points to lead No. 21 Texas (3-2) past Kentucky (2-3) in the second round of the Rainbow Wahine Classic.
TEMPLE 61, PURDUE 47: At Charlotte Amalie, U.S. Virgin Islands, Ashley Morris scored 19 points to help No. 22 Temple (2-3) beat Purdue (2-2) in the Paradise Jam.
NOTRE DAME 88, BOSTON COLLEGE 58: Lindsay Schrader had 16 points and Charel Allen added 15 as No. 23 Notre Dame (4-1) forced 33 turnovers in a victory against Boston College (2-2).
AUBURN 70, WINSTON-SALEM 37: Whitney Boddie, Sherell Hobbs and Alli Smalley combined to outscore Winston-Salem (0-3) as No. 24 Auburn (5-0) won in the semifinals of the Buckeye Classic.
