Strippers formed a picket line along Ringling Boulevard Monday in Sarasota to protest Sarasota County's efforts to restrict adult-oriented businesses.
Dressed in tight-fitting clothes, the strippers -- some pushing baby strollers -- encouraged drivers to honk their horns in support of efforts to stop the new ordinance.
The protest was organized by Ken Tataroe, owner of the Cheetah Lounge, Sarasota County's only strip club. Tataroe was joined by the American Civil Liberties Union in opposing the ordinance.
The new law would prevent Tataroe's club from serving alcohol and allowing lap dances, among other restrictions. Other adult-oriented businesses, such as stores that sell pornography, also would face greater restrictions.
