Customers of the city of Fort Meade Water Utility may have a loss of water pressure because of construction activity at the water plant, according to the city's public works department.
As a precaution, the city has advised people to boil their water when they are use it for drinking, cooking, making ice, brushing teeth or washing dishes.
A rolling boil for at least a minute is recommended. An alternative is to use bottled water.
The precautionary boil water notice will remain until the problem at the water plant has been corrected and a bacteriological survey shows that the water is safe for drinking.
Any customers with concerns or questions may contact Frank Curlee, director for public works, at (863) 285-1119 ext. 2.
