PORT RICHEY - Two-time world dance champions Adam White and Melissa Quinn will headline Florida Skating Academy's 10th annual holiday spectacular on Dec. 9.
Advance ticket purchases are recommended for the Latin-themed matinee featuring 21 numbers and more than 50 performers dancing and gliding on four-wheeled skates.
White and Quinn won gold at the 2000 World Championships in Springfield, Mass., and again at the 2001 worlds in Florence, Italy. They retired from competition in 2003 after winning a silver medal in Buenos Aires and now coach other professionals at Spinnations Skating Center.
Also appearing in the yuletide show are:
•Senior world pairs skaters Eric Hadley and Siobhan Boismier of New Port Richey.
•Junior world pairs skaters Alex Poland and Mackenzie Wriedt of Sarasota. The teens captured a bronze medal for Team USA at their first world competition in Australia.
•Singles champions John Burchfield, 13, of Orlando and Tabatha Clark, 13, of Tampa, and dance champion Meghan Boyce. The trio struck gold at the 2007 national championships.
Groups of skaters will mamba, meringue, rumba and salsa to tunes like "Hot, Hot, Hot" and, to close the show, "La Bamba."
Doors open at 1 p.m. and things get rolling at 2 at Spinnations, 8345 Congress St.
A total of 525 tickets are available, and the show has sold out the past three years, according to skating academy publicist Angela Serini.
Purchase tickets at the Port Richey rink from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Tuesdays and Thursdays and 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Sundays. The price is $10 for adults and $6 for children 12 and younger. Tickets will be sold at the door - if any remain - for $12 for adults and $10 for children.
