CHARLOTTE COUNTY - The owner of a south Charlotte County gas station and convenience store that recently burned down told the Charlotte County Sheriff's Office that 4,647 gallons of fuel are missing from underground storage tanks.
Curley's Corner owner Dipail Majmundar of Fort Myers told officials that Cape Tank Lines delivered fuel to the station 11 days before a fire Nov. 20. None of the fuel had been sold because of construction and the fire, Majmundar said.
When Cape Tank returned Tuesday to retrieve the fuel, 3,554 gallons of diesel and 1,093 gallons of premium unleaded gas were missing. The missing fuel was valued at $15,160.
