It took an international effort, but a man arrested in the slaying of an Orlando man -- whose body was dumped in Inverness -- soon will be in Citrus County.
Miguel Peralta, 18, of Orlando, fled to the Dominican Republic after killing 20-year-old Mario Jean-Jacques, the Citrus County Sheriff's Office said.
Jean-Jacques' body was found off Trail 10 near Pleasant Grove Road early Oct. 6. He had been shot, deputies said.
Detectives identified Peralta as the main suspect and worked with the U.S. Marshals Service to have him deported. Peralta arrived in Miami on Wednesday night and soon will be transported to the Citrus County detention facility in Lecanto.
Peralta faces a first-degree murder charge. Detectives have not given a motive for the slaying.
