Baby Found In Car With Unconscious Parents

The parents of a 1-month-old girl are in jail today after they were found unconscious in a car with her in the back seat, Largo police said.

Christopher Grimes, 26, of 10036 84th Way N., Largo, faces charges of DUI and child abuse, according to court records. Yolanda Renee McNew, 25, of 7301 Third Ave., St. Petersburg, is charged with child abuse.

Someone called police about 11:40 p.m. and reported seeing two adults passed out in a car on Willow Avenue, Lt. Mike Loux said.

The baby was put in protective custody. Loux said two other children have been removed from the parents' custody.

Grimes and McNew both are Pinellas County Jail. His bail was set at $5,500 bail and hers at $5,000.
