Small Arms Fire Kills Miami Soldier In Iraq

MIAMI - A 37-year-old soldier was killed in Iraq, the Department of Defense said Monday.
Staff Sgt. Donnie D. Dixon of Miami died Saturday in Baloor, Iraq, of wounds suffered when insurgents attacked his unit using small arms fire, the department said in a statement.
He was assigned to Headquarters and Headquarters Company, 3rd Brigade Combat Team, 1st Cavalry Division, Fort Hood, Texas.
A telephone listing for Dixon's family could not be found.
