CORAL GABLES WR Jermaine McKenzie has been cleared to play according to his father.
"Jermaine is feeling real good," John McKenzie said. "He was hoping to play against Duke, but Dr. [John] Uribe recommended he wait another week before playing in a game. He should dress against North Carolina."
I don't know if he'll play, but he could get some plays. He'll definitely play against Georgia Tech though.
Coach Randy Shannon said McKenzie will not play this weekend.
"He is out. It won't be a while until he comes back. He won't play any time soon. He can go out there and run around. He can't have any contact."
LARGEST DONATION: Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson and his wife Dany Garcia Johnson gave UM $1 million, which is the largest donation ever by former Hurricane student-athletes.
In recognition of their gift, the football locker room will be named the Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson Locker Room.
MOST IMPROVED: Shannon said senior DE Vegas Franklin, who leads the team with five sacks, is the most improved player on the team this year.
"He has been active as a football player and he doesn't mind, no matter what you say, Vegas is going to do it," Shannon said. "That is what I am proud of him for. He has come a long ways."
