GAINESVILLE - University of Florida coach Urban Meyer said he was very concerned about his team's nighttime activities after three football players were interviewed about a shooting early Sunday morning.
Tight end Aaron Hernandez and two other current Gators, who have yet to be identified, were among several people interviewed by police.
Although the players are not suspects in the case, Meyer said he wasn't overly happy that his players were out at 2 a.m.
"I mean I know college kids do stuff," Meyer said. "I'd rather not do that after games, but I'm not a police officer either, so I can't lock them down completely."
Meyer said all he can do is lecture and teach his players about making good decisions.
"I'd rather our guys not be out," Meyer said. "My children, I don't want them out at 2 a.m."
INJURY UPDATES: Senior Andre Caldwell practiced Tuesday, but the Gators are taking care of their precious receiver.
"We're really careful with Bubba right now," Meyer said.
Meyer also said Markihe Anderson (sprained PCL) is good, but the cornerback has been sporting a knee brace and was limping when he left practice Monday.
