Recently Sen. Hillary Clinton said that she if elected president she would give $5,000 to each child for college education. Here are a few facts:

1. The president cannot authorize this sort of payment. This must be done by the Senate and House of Representatives.

2. Not all children need, nor want, to go to college. There are lots of jobs that do not require a college degree - retail clerks, trade jobs, garbage collectors and other service personnel.

3. Soon the Social Security system will be out of money and Medicare and Medicaid are growing at breakneck speeds.

It's just another 'chicken in every pot' promise to get elected. Wake up people.
