SEMINOLE Pinellas County sheriff's detectives are searching for a man who they say robbed a Wachovia Bank at 8700 Bryan-Dairy Road about 3:30 p.m. today.
The suspect is described as a white man between 45-50 years old, weighing about 160 pounds and standing about 6 feet tall. He has dark collar-length hair and a mustache. The suspect was wearing a baseball cap with the Tampa Bay Devil Rays logo on the front, a white T-shirt, denim shorts and brown work boots.
No gun was seen but the suspect may be armed, according to the sheriff's office.
Detectives say the suspect entered the bank, showed a teller a note that demanded cash and implied he had a handgun. The teller complied, and the suspect fled the bank with an undisclosed amount of cash, the sheriff's office said. No injuries were reported.
Anyone with information is asked to call Detective Jim Cavagnaro of the Pinellas County Sheriff's Office Robbery Unit at (727) 582-6200. Information can be provided anonymously through Crime Stoppers by calling 1-800-873-TIPS, or by submitting information online at www.crimestoppersofpinellas.org.
