Surgery For Blood Clots Is A Success For Hanson

Published: October 6, 2007

Isaac Hanson realized something was wrong while he was onstage in Dallas on Tuesday night: His shoulder started swelling and his right arm became numb.

'Having had this happen before, I started to be really suspicious of what it was,' the guitarist for the brother group Hanson told People magazine on Friday.

After the show, he received the diagnosis he had expected and feared. He had blot clots in his right arm, jugular vein and lungs. He had similar clotting in 2003.

After undergoing surgery, Hanson, 26, is expected to make a full recovery and be well enough to resume performing as early as Monday, when the band's 'Walk Tour' continues in Knoxville, Tenn.

'I'm feeling pretty good,' says Hanson, his arm wrapped in an Ace bandage to control swelling. 'I'm feeling lucky.'

He will need to have a rib removed in the next few months to help open his vein and prevent another clot.

Paparazzi Chase William, Kate

Paparazzi aggressively pursued Prince William and his girlfriend early Friday as they left a nightclub, following them by car through the streets of London after photographing the couple, the prince's spokesman said.

The chase came just days after the start of an inquiry into his mother's death in a 1997 car crash after being pursued by photographers.
British newspapers on Friday ran pictures of William and Kate Middleton, both 25, in a car after leaving a London nightclub in the early hours. 'Threatening' paparazzi then chased the couple in their car, Paddy Harverson said.

'The aggressive pursuit was potentially dangerous and worrying for them,' Harverson said.

Former 'Price' Employee Sues Barker

A woman who worked on 'The Price Is Right' for two decades has sued Bob Barker and the game show's producers, alleging they retaliated against her and forced her to quit after she testified against Barker.

Deborah Curling claimed she was in a 'pleasant working environment' for many years screening contestants for the show, but that changed after she testified in a wrongful termination lawsuit brought against Barker by a former production assistant, according to her lawsuit filed Thursday in Superior Court.

Curling claimed she was demoted to working in an 'intolerable' working environment in the back stage, forcing her to leave the show last fall.

Wilson Shows For Film's Premiere

Owen Wilson has returned to the public eye, making an appearance at the Los Angeles premiere of his new film, 'The Darjeeling Limited.'

Wilson was joined by cast mates Adrien Brody, Anjelica Huston, Jason Schwartzman and filmmaker Wes Anderson. It was among Wilson's first public appearances since an apparent suicide attempt in late August.

Before the movie started, Anderson introduced Wilson, his longtime friend and collaborator, saying, 'I've never made a movie without him and I hope I never have to.'
