TAMPA - Two Hillsborough County residents were arrested Saturday after trying to sell 2 kilograms of cocaine to deputies for $46,000, arrest affidavits show. A third kilogram was found during a vehicle search.
Jelyn Janeth Ponce and Israel Angeles Juarez face felony counts of cocaine trafficking and conspiracy to traffic in cocaine.
While Juarez picked up the cocaine, Ponce stayed with the deputy, the affidavit states. Juarez, 31, of Brandon, remained in close telephone contact with her.
When Juarez arrived at Tampa Bay Boulevard and Armenia Avenue, he had 3 kilograms of cocaine inside the vehicle, the affidavit shows. Juarez produced 2 kilograms of cocaine and was arrested.
Juarez and Ponce, 27, of Tampa, remain in Orient Road Jail, with no bail set.
