ORLANDO - A 19-year-old man accused of killing an
off-duty Orlando police officer made his first appearance before a
judge.
Davin Smith faces charges of first-degree murder with a firearm
and burglary. An Orange County judge ordered him to be held without
bond.
Smith was released from state prison in August after serving a
five-year sentence for armed robbery out of Miami-Dade County.
A 17-year-old juvenile also arrested in connection with the
shooting death of Alfred L. Gordon is expected to have a first
appearance later in the day.
Gordon was found dead Thursday in his police car in a bank
parking lot.
