HUDSON - A fundraising sale today will benefit the Bayonet Point Regional Medical Center's Volunteer Scholarship Fund, which since its inception has given $50,000 to 60,000 in scholarships to students who are planning careers in health care.
From 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. today, the Volunteer Organization at Regional Medical Center Bayonet Point, 14000 Fivay Road, in the Shoreline Cafe, will host a fundraiser featuring the sale of Rhythm Clocks.
'These are fun clocks that wiggle and waggle when they chime,' said Kurt Conover, business development director for the center.
A company representative from Rhythm Clocks will demonstrate the clocks.
Proceeds from purchases, Conover said, will benefit what has proved to be a far-reaching scholarship program.
'The volunteers give a $1,000 scholarship each year to a student from this community; most of the recipients are going in to the health care field,' he said. 'They also give supplemental scholarships to Regional Medical Center employees, for their continuing education.'
Today's fundraiser is open to the public; the clocks will be on display and orders will be taken for gift giving. Shipping will be available at additional cost. Cash, credit cards and checks (with appropriate identification) will be accepted.
