HUDSON Zack Wynn had to admit he felt like Peyton Manning on Monday afternoon.
The 6-2, 180-pound sophomore had a fantasy type of game. He threw for five touchdowns and 208 yards, leading Hudson to a 66-18 victory against Wiregrass Ranch at the Hudson field.
Wynn had some major offensive help as running back Sean Scott ran for four touchdowns and 157 yards. The game was played in oppressive heat and often resembled a high-scoring video game.
'It feels great,' Wynn said. 'It's a team sport. Everyone is helping me out.
'This is my best day ever. I have 11 touchdown passes (through five games). It was a great team effort.'
Hudson is now 3-2 overall and 1-1 in Class 3A-District 8. Wiregrass Ranch is now 0-6 and 0-2 in district play.
Wynn completed nine of 16 passing attempts for 208 yards.
Wideout Anthony Germano was Wynn's favorite target. He caught three TD passes on plays of 48,53 and 56 yards.
The game was postponed from Friday night when officials stopped the game due to lightning strikes in the area.
Most of the second half was played with a running clock.
'We weren't trying to run up the score by any means,' Hudson coach Mark Nash said. 'Sean had a couple of long runs that we didn't necessarily anticipate. The score was more lopsided than we wanted it to be.'Wiregrass Ranch coach Ricky Thomas had to enjoy the performance of Angel Rodriguez. The 5-10, 162-pound junior threw three touchdown passes. He hit Travis Duffy on scoring passes of 35 and 42 yards. Rodriguez also hit tight end Michael Hamilton for a 9-yard score.
