Mommy and kid yoga classes are all the rage, and now you can take those poses home with you. That's what Lisa Wilson of Yogani Studios in south Tampa does with 2-year-old Grace.
Wilson, who's been teaching pre-natal and vinyasa flow classes for four years, studied under Shiva Rea and Janice Clairfield.
Check out these kid-tested poses you can do anywhere.
NAVASANA (BOAT POSE)
This is an abdominal and deep hip flexor strengthener, but most kids will be too busy having a ball trying to balance themselves on their tailbones.
1. Sit on the floor with your legs straight in front of you. Have your little one lie in your lap, legs against your chest and feet near your face. Hold hands for balance.
2. Exhale and slowly lean back, engaging your core. Lift your legs off the floor at a 45-degree angle, holding onto your legs for support if necessary. Your little one will naturally form this same V position.
This pose is a great way to relieve stress and improve digestion.
