CLEARWATER - Police have made a second arrest in a fatal shooting Monday that prompted authorities to lock down seven schools.
Allan Burney, 19, of Clearwater, was booked into the Pinellas County Jail late Thursday night on four counts of attempted first-degree murder. His bail was set at $400,000.
Another suspect, Gaylor Shaw, 19, already was in custody on one count of first-degree murder and three counts of attempted murder.
Shaw is accused of shooting into a car occupied by four people on North Betty Lane, police have said. The car took off and crashed into a utility pole, and the driver, Michael Scott, 23, of Clearwater, later died, police have said.
Burney also is accused of shooting into the car, but his bullets didn't strike anyone, arrest affidavits state.
As police looked for shooters after the attack, seven schools in the area were locked down.
Allan Burney also is the name of one of the hosts of a DVD circulating in the same neighborhood where Monday's shooting took place. The name of the DVD is "Da Hood Gone Wild," according to police documents.
The DVD depicts customized cars, firearms and women dressed in provocative clothing, police documents state. It also features footage of violent fights, arrests by Clearwater police and scenes of crowds taunting police as police try to restore order in the neighborhood, police documents state.
