At 1 p.m. Wednesday, Seaberry and another person drove up to the victim's house in a red Monte Carlo with the number 17 on its hood, St. Petersburg Police Department Sgt. Al White says in a news release.

Seaberry went to the front door and asked the man living there about his son, White said. Without opening the door, the victim replied he had not seen his son in years.

Seaberry then went back to the Monte Carlo and got a gas receipt with a telephone number on it, White said. He approached the front door and asked the man give the note to his son, White said.

Once the man opened the door, Seaberry attacked, hitting him on the head with a handgun as they struggled, White said. Then Seaberry got back in the Monte Carlo and left with the other person , White said.

Seaberry was arrested a half block from his residence, White said. He was carrying a tote bag with 448 grams of powder cocaine and a small amount of marijuana, White said.

Seaberry was charged with armed home invasion, trafficking in cocaine and misdemeanor possession of marijuana, White said.
