PLANT CITY - City commissioners on Monday approved a resolution authorizing the city, the Florida Department of Transportation and CSX Transportation Inc. to work together in refurbishing the railroad crossing at Alexander Street and Jim Johnson Road.
DOT has $44,010 available to upgrade the railroad crossing devices, according to a city staff report.
CSX crews will install the upgraded devices, and the Department of Transportation will oversee the work.
The city will be provide pavement paint-striping at a cost of $500 and if necessary some tree trimming to improve traffic visibility at the crossing, the report states.
