PORT RICHEY - When Ralph Mosca decided to become a promoter with Florida Championship Wrestling, he said he wanted to do fundraisers in the area.
He has kept his word.
Last month, FCW helped raise tens of thousands of dollars for the Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals, Mosca said.
Tonight, Mosca is promoting a nine-match FCW event at the Jewish Community Center of West Pasco, at 9841 Scenic Drive in Port Richey. Proceeds will benefit the Shady Hill Raiders of the Pasco Police Athletic League.
Tickets are $7 in advance and $10 at the door, which opens at 7 p.m. Matches begin around 8.
Florida Championship Wrestling is a developmental territory for World Wrestling Entertainment, and the card is full of young wrestlers with famous last names, including Harry Smith, son of the late 'British Bulldog' Davey Boy Smith; Lacey Von Erich, daughter of the late Kerry Von Erich; Nattie Neidhart, daughter of Jim 'The Anvil' Neidhart; and Ted DiBiase Jr.
'There's also Afa Jr. from the famous Wild Samoan family,' Mosca said. 'A lot of these guys train down here in Tampa. The shape these guys are in is incredible.'
Headlining the card is Santino Morello, who won a WWE Intercontinental title in April.
Mosca said FCW also has begun weekly shows at Bourbon Street nightclub on U.S. 19, just north of State Road 54. The events are on Tuesday, usually starting at 8:30 p.m.
