TEMPLE TERRACE - A Tampa woman tried passing two fraudulent $500 Visa travelers checks this morning at a CVS pharmacy, but the plan didn't work because the store caught onto her scheme, according to the Temple Terrace police department.
Niema Quranya Wright, 25, previously had passed fraudulent checks at the CVS, 5502 E. Fowler Ave., an arrest affidavit shows. After searching her purse and vehicle, Temple Terrace police recovered a total of six fraudulent travelers checks worth $500 each and four fraudulent postal money orders worth $850 each.
Wright, of 1004 E. River Cove St., was charged today with felony organized fraud less than $20,000, felony possession of 10 or more counterfeit bills and a felony count of uttering a forged instrument.
She remains in Orient Road Jail with bail set at $6,000.
