TEMPLE TERRACE - Two teenagers in a stolen Nissan Sentra led Hillsborough County deputies on a low-speed chase into Pasco County about 5 a.m. today before being arrested.
The chase began when a deputy saw a suspicious car near Bearss and Livingston avenues about 4:30 a.m. and confirmed it was reported stolen today by Temple Terrace police.
The teenagers in the 1996 Sentra burglarized two vehicles on Livingston before stopping to get gas for the car, deputies say.
When deputies tried to stop the vehicle, 16-year-old Dillon Compton refused to pull over, according to a sheriff's office news release. The Sentra traveled east on Bearss to Bruce B. Downs Boulevard, south to Fletcher Avenue and east to Morris Bridge Road.
Pasco County deputies deployed stop sticks just over the Hillsborough County line. The sticks stopped the vehicle, and the teens were taken into custody.
No one was injured.
Compton, of 16402 Livingston Ave., Lutz, was charged with grand theft auto, aggravated fleeing and eluding and two counts of auto burglary.
A 13-year-old was charged with grand theft auto and two counts of auto burglary. The Tribune is not releasing his name because of his age.
Compton and the 13-year-old were taken to the Juvenile Assessment Center, according to the news release.
