Where To Get Flu Shots

You can get a flu shot at your own doctor's office, area walk-in clinics, at flu shot events hosted by local supermarkets and other public places. Here are times and locations advertised by some of them. Unless otherwise indicated, shots are available as of Monday, Oct. 15. For more information, call the phone numbers provided.

The cost of a flu shot at the Health Department is $25. Pneumonia vaccines will also be available for $35. Bring your Medicare card, and a photo ID if paying by check or credit card. As supplies are available the Hillsborough County Health Department will offer flu shots on a walk-in basis from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., Monday through Friday.

HILLSBOROUGH COUNTY DEPARTMENT OF AGING SERVICES

Every fall, senior citizens are at the head of the line to obtain a flu shot. We will be offering flu shots to seniors (those 60 years and older) at each of the Hillsborough County Senior Centers.

To receive a flu shot, please call or visit your nearest Hillsborough County Senior Center on the following dates:

CITY OF ST. PETERSBURG OFFICE ON AGING

Flu shots are available Monday, Oct. 22, 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Sunshine Center, 330 - 5th St. N. For more information call 727-893-7102.

USF COLLEGE OF HEALTH

Free flu shots will be offered to adults 18 and older 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. this Friday, Oct. 19, in the college's auditorium, 13201 Bruce B. Downs Blvd.

The shots will be administered, while supplies last, on a first-come, first-served basis.

BLUE CROSS/BLUE SHIELD

Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Florida will provide flu shots to members of its Medicare Advantage BlueMedicare HMO and PPO programs at no cost to enrollees.

Flu shots will also be available to the general public at a cost of $30. The shots will be offered at locations statewide through Nov. 17.

PUBLIX SUPERMARKETS

Flu and pneumonia shots are being offered at select Publix supermarkets. To find a location near you go to www.publix.com/flu

Cost of flu shots is $30 each. Cost for pneumonia shots is $40 each.

TYRONE SQUARE MALL

Flu shots will be administered Saturday from Oct. 20 through Nov. 3, 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. The cost is $30 for flu shots and $40 for pneumonia shots.

Participants must be 9 or older and must sign a consent form. A parent or guardian must accompany children under 18 years to sign the consent form.

Doctors' prescriptions are not necessary, and Medicare recipients who are not members of a Medicare HMO can receive either/both shots free of charge at all on-site clinics with a valid Medicare card. Cash and checks also are accepted. Shots are available on a first-come, first-served basis.

Tyrone Square is on Tyrone Boulevard and 22nd Avenue North in St. Petersburg.
