PLANT CITY – O'Brien's Irish Pub & Grill is sponsoring a fundraiser Saturday in memory of slain Hillsborough County sheriff's Sgt. Ron Harrison to benefit Tampa Bay area youth football leagues.
The Plant City O'Brien's, 1701 S. Alexander St., is calling the fundraiser "Memory of a Hero."
Harrison was fatally shot Aug. 15 while driving his cruiser home after completing a DUI training exercise in Brandon. The assailant was killed in a shootout with law enforcement.

"Harrison had a long relationship with youth football in the county," said O'Brien's manager Terry Haley. "One of the bands we use at the restaurant, Code Blues, is made up of law enforcement employees. Their involvement with us and recent conversations led to the fundraiser idea."
Code Blues will perform live at O'Brien's along with four other bands: Memphis Highway, Damon Fowler Group, West Brady Park and Rollin' River Band.
The benefit will start at 4 p.m. and continue to closing.
"The fundraising will depend on donations received at the door," Haley said.
In addition to the bands, which will appear free, O'Brien's is holding drawings for items such as a big-screen television and items donated by Rooms-To-Go.
Haley said all of the restaurant's vendors donated items and services.
For information, call O'Brien's at (813) 764-8818.
