TAMPA - A man shot in the arm ran into a police substation today seeking help and saying he had been carjacked, Tampa police say.
Details about the man and his vehicle weren't immediately available.
The man had injuries that were not life-threatening and was transported to St. Joseph's Hospital, Tampa police spokeswoman Andrea Davis said. She did not know which arm had been shot.
The man ran into a District 3 substation that covers downtown Tampa, Ybor City and East Tampa. He told police he was carjacked at 31st Avenue and 19th Street, an area where Tampa police frequently patrol and make drug arrests, Davis said.
Because of his injuries, the man isn't able to talk to detectives right now, Davis said.
An investigation is ongoing.
