An apparent homicide happened Monday night in Beverly Hills, according to the Citrus County Sheriff's Office.
Benjamin Fee
Benjamin Fee, 18, of Beverly Hills was found dead in his Jeep, which was pulled off Deckwood Drive about 7 p.m. A second man was seen running from the area.
"In a strange twist of events, Fee was the victim of an attempted homicide earlier this year," a sheriff's office release states. "In July, the young man was shot at while in his vehicle. Fee avoided the shots, but the glass was shattered on the vehicle."
Michael Venticinque, 17, of Beverly Hills, was arrested Aug. 3 on a warrant charging him with attempted first-degree murder with a firearm, conspiracy to commit first-degree murder and shooting into an occupied vehicle, according to the release. He has been in custody since then.
Nicholas Mitrani, 18, of Hernando, was arrested in that case July 30 and charged with conspiracy to commit first-degree murder, the release states. He has been out of jail on bail but is not considered a suspect at this point.
The cause of Fee's death is undetermined, and it's too early to know whether the incidents are related, according to the sheriff's office.
The sheriff's office has had two reported homicides in a little more than a week, a news release states. Anyone with information can call Gail Tierney at (352) 422-6242 or (352) 726-4488, ext. 311.
