LEXINGTON, Ky. - The Southeastern Conference fined Kentucky $50,000 on Monday for failing to prevent fans from rushing the field after the Wildcats' triple-overtime victory against top-ranked LSU.
It was the third violation dating to last year for Kentucky, which was fined $5,000 for the celebration after a win last year against Georgia and $25,000 earlier this year after a victory against Louisville.
Kentucky defeated LSU 43-37 - its first victory against a top-ranked team since 1964.
ACC: Georgia Tech running back Tashard Choice (offensive back) and tackle Andrew Gardner (offensive lineman) were among the weekly award winners. Also honored: Wake Forest kicker Sam Swank (specialist) and running back Josh Adams (rookie), Virginia Tech inside linebacker Brett Warren (defensive lineman) and North Carolina outside linebacker Durell Mapp (defensive back).
MICHIGAN: Defensive end Tim Jamison and other teammates said running back Mike Hart, who appeared to hurt his right ankle Saturday against Purdue, would play Saturday at Illinois.
NOTRE DAME: Matt Carufel, who started three games at right guard, has decided to withdraw from school after losing the starting job.
SEC: Conference coordinator of officials Rogers Redding said there was nothing wrong with the reversal of a call Saturday that guaranteed Alabama's 27-24 win at Mississippi. The reversal led to a storm of hurled garbage and the arrest of three people.
TEXAS: Freshman fullback Antwan Cobb will have season-ending surgery after spraining a ligament in his left knee in last week's win against Iowa State.
