TAMPA - Three suspects in a possible shooting incident are being interviewed by Hillsborough County sheriff's deputies after they were chased to a strawberry field, according to the sheriff's office.
The incident happened shortly after 1:30 p.m. Wednesday when deputies responded to a report of shots fired near the Homewood Suites Hotel in the area of Adamo Drive east and Interstate 75 southbound. The caller told authorities that someone in a black Mustang and had fired shots at a gray vehicle, breaking the rear window.
Deputies spotted the Mustang near Palm River and Falkenburg roads and chased it to the area of 5711 U.S. 92 east where it drove into a strawberry field and occupants bailed out, according to the sheriff's office.
The three occupants, one woman and two men, were caught by deputies. A search of the car found two weapons.
Investigators are still looking for the gray vehicle.
