FLYERS 4, THRASHERS 0: Jeff Carter and Sami Kapanen scored 34 seconds apart in the second period, and Martin Biron was sensational again in leading Philadelphia past winless Atlanta.
Biron made 31 saves in his first shutout since the Flyers acquired him from Buffalo in February to solidify the No. 1 goaltender spot. Biron had his 19th NHL shutout, his first since April 18, 2006, against Carolina.
PANTHERS 2, CANADIENS 1: Nathan Horton tied the game with 10.2 seconds left in regulation and Jozef Stumpel scored the only shootout goal to give Florida victory over Montreal.
Stumpel, Florida's third shooter, beat Cristobal Huet after Ville Peltonen and Horton had failed before him to give the Panthers the win. Horton's tying goal came just seconds after Montreal killed a late penalty.
