TAMPA - Elalia Walker, who investigators say was beaten by her boyfriend, suffered brain damage and her condition worsened today.
Temple Terrace police said Walker was beaten Oct. 11 by her boyfriend, Stanley Telfare, a custodian at Blake High School. Telfare, 46, was arrested at 4 a.m. Friday and is charged with kidnapping and felony battery.

At Telfare's bail hearing this morning, the judge and prosecutor stated Walker's condition has deteriorated. Telfare continues to be held without bail.
Walker, 40, is a secretary at Blake High School.
Authorities are ready to pursue a first-degree murder charge if anything happens to Walker, police spokesman Michael Dunn said.
"She's in real bad shape," Dunn said.
A witness called Temple Terrace police last week, stating he saw a man strike a woman at Orange River Estates after an argument. The man forced the woman into a van, the witness told police.
Dunn said Tuesday that Telfare took Walker to her family's home, telling the family she had jumped from the van as it was moving and was injured. Walker's family called Tampa police.
"Whether she jumped remains anybody's guess," Dunn said then. "The family saw she was seriously injured."
