TRINITY - Trinity College of Florida is marking its 75th anniversary with a new athletic logo designed to invigorate players and fans alike.
The logo prominently features the college's tiger mascot, nicknamed Titus. He stands proudly in front of a towering letter T. The design also incorporates the NCCAA Division II school's colors of black and gold.
The unveiling came Friday during Midnight Madness, the first pep rally of the year. The event featured a scrimmage by the men's basketball team; audience participation in various athletic games; and free T-shirts and 'Tiger Pride' merchandise for the first 75 fans in attendance.
'The fans were very enthusiastic and the energy was tremendous,' Athletic Director Al Depoutot said in a news release. Midnight Madness, a new Trinity tradition that goes from 10 p.m. to midnight, 'was a great way to begin our basketball season.'
'Midnight Madness was amazing. It is probably the most fun I have had all semester,' said sophomore Rebekah Scarlett. 'I really like the new logo. It is new, exciting, and fun.'
Trinity College of Florida specializes in teaching students about the Bible and preparing them for ministerial careers. Besides classroom training, they have opportunities for involvement in ministries on and off campus.
