TAMPA Three Tampa women took part in a paintball spree Wednesday night, riding through Ybor City while two fired a gas-powered paintball gun at people, police say.
A man nearly was struck on the head by one shot, and a woman was hit and permanently disfigured, an arrest affidavit states.
Jackie Yvonne Jones, Nekoma Keona Holmes and Rita Monique Girven were arrested this morning and charged with felony aggravated assault and felony aggravated battery.
Girven and Holmes also were charged with felony accessory after the fact.
Jones, 18, shot a woman on the right arm, burning the skin and bruising her, an arrest affidavit states. The woman, who was walking when Jones fired at her, said she was "in extreme pain" after being shot but refused medical attention.
The gun and ammunition were found under the vehicle's front passenger seat, where Holmes was sitting, the affidavit states.
Holmes, 28, admitted to shooting the gun at a stop sign at 22nd Street and 21st Avenue, according to the affidavit. A person standing there nearly was struck on the head.
Girven, 25, told police Jones got in her vehicle with the paintball gun. She said Jones told her she was planning to shoot at objects and people, an arrest affidavit states. Girven still allowed Jones into the vehicle and drove her around.
All three are in Orient Road Jail. Bail for Holmes and Girven was set at $17,000 for each. Bail for Jones was set at $9,500.
