Regarding 'Barrell Roll' (Business, Oct. 18):

Is our government going to allow our economy to go into deep recession because of oil prices now on their way to $100 a barrel?

Our dollar is at an all time low against foreign currency. We have the world's largest reserve of coal to fuel ecologically safe coal gasification electric generation plants, yet 'green' Charlie Crist has stopped new plants from being built.

This nation must go into a wartime mode to build nuclear and coal-gasification electric generating facilities to replace oil generation plants and to have the energy available to convert coal and shale into oil.

Are our politicians so in 'cahoots' with big oil that they are willing to wreck our nation?
