TAMPA - Nine Tampa Tribune employees were honored for excellence in journalism at the 2007 Florida Press Club awards banquet in Fort Myers on Saturday night.

Those honored were:

•Michelle Bearden, first place, religion writing

•Jeff Houck, second place, light features

•John Allman and Lindsay Peterson, first place, general news

•Shannon Behnken, third place, business news

•Jay Nolan, first place, news photo essay

•Kathy Moore, second place, feature photo essay

•Fred Bellet, third place, feature photo

•Len Howell, third place, local page design

The Florida Press Club is a volunteer, nonprofit organization of writers, editors, photographers, graphic artists, researchers, librarians and support technicians who work at the state's newspapers.
