TALLAHASSEE - Florida State coach Bobby Bowden has a message for the prankster who planted a For Sale sign in his front lawn sometime after Saturday night's loss to Miami.
'It ain't there now,' Bowden said Sunday. 'I ain't selling.'
When Bowden came outside Sunday morning to leave for his breakfast meeting with reporters who cover the Seminoles, he noticed the sign in his front yard. Bowden pulled up the red and white sign and tossed it over in his driveway, where it remained early Sunday afternoon.
FSU committed five turnovers and blew a late lead in Saturday's 37-29 loss to Miami, the Noles' second consecutive defeat after a four-game winning streak. FSU dropped to 4-3 overall, the same record the Noles had a year ago after seven games. FSU finished 7-6 - its most losses since Bowden's first season in 1976 - prompting Bowden to make the largest staff overhaul of his career.
He laughed off the disgruntled fan's apparent wish.
'I've had that happen at West Virginia, and I've had that happen here,' Bowden said. 'It's kind of a standard trick.'
