GAINESVILLE - University of Florida DT Brandon Antwine was hospitalized for several days with a lower back injury, Gators coach Urban Meyer said.
Meyer, who has kept in constant contact with Antwine during his hospitalization, said he thought the sophomore was released from the hospital Tuesday.
"It's been a painful week for him," Meyer said. "I saw him, it's just a muscular issue, it's real painful but it's not a structural issue."
Meanwhile, freshman FS Major Wright and sophomore WR Riley Cooper underwent surgery Monday and both were successful.
Wright had a small plate placed in his right thumb and will wear a cast for at least this week. Cooper had two screws inserted into a finger he broke but will not need a cast.
Meyer said the duo attended Tuesday's team meetings, but he let them miss practice and hopes they might be game ready for Georgia.
"I guess I'm an optimist, and maybe we'll see them later this week," Meyer said.
DOGS TURNED GATORS: For freshman P Chas Henry, the Florida-Georgia game this Saturday will be particularly sweet.
The Dallas, Ga., native said many of his friends grew up Bulldogs fans, but now that he dons an orange and blue uniform, they have jumped on the Gators bandwagon.
"You turn die-hard Georgia fans into Florida fans now," Henry said. "It's real exciting to see."
Henry said he followed the rivalry growing up and is excited about actually being a part of the game on Saturday.
"It's one of those games where if you grow up in the South, and you know SEC football, this is the game to watch," Henry said.
