BRADENTON - Three Manatee High School students could be facing charges after they bragged on the Internet about attacking a girl and giving her a concussion and broken blood vessels, police said.
Meggan Van Wagner, a Manatee High School student, was kicked and punched by three girls while a fourth took photos during the Sept. 23 beating. The photos were posted on MySpace.com, police said.
Police turned over the case to the state attorney's office and the girls may face criminal charges pending review, authorities said.
The identities of the attackers were not released by police pending charges. They are all 17.
Van Wagner's mother, Angel, said her daughter went to a park to play flag football.
Angel Van Wagner said the attackers called her daughter to tell her they were on their way to beat her up.
Meggan Van Wagner called 911.
The attackers later told detectives what happened after being confronted with the MySpace posting, police said.
