BRADENTON — The owner of a clothing store who authorities say snatched a girl's cell phone and licked her neck was arrested today on robbery and battery charges.
Bradenton resident Wadai F. Abraham 44, who owns Urban Wear, 800 block Cortez Road W., wanted the girl and her mother to come into his shop at about 10:30 a.m.
Sandra Collazo, 45, and her 17-year-old daughter were driving by the store slowly to travel over speed bumps, according to Manatee County sheriff's reports. Abraham reportedly stopped Collazo, asking her to come inside the clothing store.
When Collazo declined, Abraham allegedly grabbed the teenage girl's cell phone and walked away. He said the girl could get her phone back if she came in the store.
Authorities say Abraham hugged the girl and licked her neck. The girl ran from the store. Abraham, who was jailed today and unavailable for comment, apologized to the girl and to her mother, sheriff's deputies said.
