Scooter Driver Hurt In Crash

A man on a scooter was seriously hurt in a crash early Friday morning.

TAMPA – A motor scooter driver is in the hospital this morning after crashing into a car, authorities said.
The accident happened about 4:45 a.m. at Himes Avenue and Columbus Drive. The scooter was in the southbound lane of Himes and turned left in front of a northbound car, a Tampa police officer said.
He was taken to St. Joseph's Hospital with injuries that included a broken leg, the officer said.
His name has not been released.
