THE DIFFERENCE: Running back Joseph Evans' pass to a wide open Andre Simpson with 19 seconds left in the game stunned a homecoming crowd that watched Newsome score 16 unanswered points in the second half.
GAME NOTES: Indians running back Chaz Burrows scored three touchdowns, including two within three-and-a-half minutes, to seemingly put the game out of reach in the second quarter. … After the homecoming halftime ceremony, in which many Newsome players participated, the team came out and held East Bay to a minus-1 yard of total offense in the third quarter while scoring 10 points.
STAT OF THE GAME: Burrows ran for 101 first half yards (126 overall) and Newsome's Connor Powers ran for 90 yards (98 overall) in the second half.
