SEFFNER - Four goals in six minutes propelled Seffner Christian to the Class 1A-District 3 soccer title with a 7-0 win against Bayshore Christian on Friday. Austin Parimore and Robert Bull each scored twice for the Crusaders.

Bayshore opened the brighter of the two teams, but Seffner (19-3-3) took control after the first 10 minutes, getting into a passing rhythm that started to create opportunities. Andrew Entsminger and Bull both had chances turned away by Bayshore goalkeeper Morgan Capen, but Bull opened the scoring in the 21st minute when he redirected a low corner kick to the near post by David Waldy.

The goal visibly deflated Bayshore (8-11), and Seffner doubled its lead two minutes later as Mark Sentovich roofed a shot from 8 yards out after a through ball from Steven Cunningham. Parimore created the Crusaders' third chance, beating three defenders before crossing to find Brian Kocsis, who scored from close in. Parimore scored the fourth himself off a through ball from Cunningham.

'We definitely got momentum after about the first eight minutes,' Parimore said. 'We started playing together, and good things happened.'

Bayshore's play led in part to Seffner's chances, as the Faith Warriors gave possession away in the defense and the midfield, and the team's lack of movement hindered any chance it might have had to get back in the game.

'Seffner is a very good team,' Bayshore coach Chad Clark said. 'And they move the ball well. We got caught grouped together while they were spaced apart, and we got caught playing catch.'

As profligate as Bayshore's midfield was, Seffner's was creative as Parimore and Sentovich kept creating opportunities for their forwards.

'Our midfield is what wins or loses games,' Seffner coach Mark Canterbury said. 'Our midfield today made wise decisions, as did the wide players.'

Parimore scored his second before halftime from the penalty spot, before Bull's second and a goal by Entsminger completed the scoring five minutes into the second half.

Bayshore had chances to grab a goal, the best falling to Robbie Dyer, but Seffner goalkeepers Steven Busch and Corey DeHate, brought on as a second-half substitute, held the Warriors scoreless.
