Regarding 'Generous Gift To Kids' Museum Shows Bighearted Side Of Glazers' (Our Opinion, Oct. 21) and 'You've Given Us Big Bucs, But Not Big Bucks' by Daniel Ruth (Metro, Oct. 20):
The editorial and column above mentioned some of Tampa's most committed local donors and philanthropists but failed to mention one who we recently lost: Mr. Bob Thomas. At Mr. Thomas' funeral, I, along with two Catholic nuns, spoke with Dottie Berger MacKinnon, Thomas' office administrator for many years, about how he gave great sums of money and time to various 'needs' both locally and nationally. The unique part of Thomas' donations, per MacKinnon, was that he titled the gifts under his other name: Anonymous.
May we all be joyful givers, like Bob Thomas, by whatever names we use.
