A life-threatening anaphylactic reaction can include:
• A tingling sensation, itching or a metallic taste in the mouth
• Hives
• Swelling of the mouth and throat area
• Wheezing, coughing or other difficulty breathing
• A sensation of warmth
In biphasic reactions, the symptoms go away, only to return with increased severity two to three hours later. This occurs in about 20 percent of anaphylactic reactions.
