ST. PETERSBURG - Aggressive Africanized bees are living above Bob Woodworth's home.
The 7 feet by 3 feet hive is home to an estimated 40,000 bees, according to exterminator Jeff McChesney.
So far, no one at the Woodworth home at 7310 5th Ave. S., has had any trouble with the bees.
The hybrids can be very aggressive and the USDA and the University of Florida agriculture experts recommend destroying hives that show up in public.
Africanized honey bee sometimes reacts to disturbances 50 feet or more from its hive and can chase an enemy up to a mile or more.
